MixRadio is a popular free music streaming service supported on Windows devices. Now the same will roll out for Android and iOS platforms as well. MixRadio was initially called as the Nokia MixRadio which later on dropped the Nokia brand name after the Finnish company was acquired by Microsoft. After that, Microsoft again sold it to LINE communication service. The new support for iOS and Android has been achieved under the ownership of LINE itself. MixRadio announced today that they are going to provide the easiest and personalized music streaming experience to its users.
Since MixRadio is no longer limited to the Windows Platform, it is also providing some additional perks to users. For example, MixRadio is repprtedly teaming up with HTC to exclusively provide music updates for BlinkFeed exclusivey on HTC Android smartphones. In general, MixRadio has two music streaming components- the curated playlist and the personalized streaming. From the announcement made by MixRadio, it’s clear that they are focusing mainly on the latter component.
Almost all the features that was offered to Windows users will be provided to iOS and Android users as well. Apart from this the Android version will have a new user interface quite different from that of the conventional Windows App. Even though, the Android and iOS versions of the app will have an extremely personalized and easy to use music streaming, the main spotlight will be focused on Windows only. Hence the app will come pre-loaded with Windows phones and Windows devices. Microsoft even ensured that the app comes pre-installed with Windows devices. MixRadio said,”Windows Phone isn’t the widest-used platform, but we have a huge active user base there.”
