Giant squid is one of the rarest aquatic species that lives in the deepest corners of oceans. It was a treat to the eyes of people at the Toyama Bay in Japan when a very special giant squid decided to pay a visit to the fellows on Christmas Eve. According to news channel CNN, the animal was there quite for sometime giving enough time to the spectators to record it.
One of the spectators who also happens to be a diver got down into water and recorded the giant squid with a submersible camera “This squid was not damaged and looked lively, spurting ink and trying to entangle his tentacles around me,” told the diver.
The animal was swimming in the harbor for a few hours and then the diver guided it back into deep water. The animal was 12 feet long and hence was considered as a young giant squid. Adults ones are 30 -40 feet longer. It was an unusual even as giant squids never come into shallow water. the exact reason of its coming out of deep ocean has not yet been known.
