Google has introduced a new feature called Family Library for its global customers that enables them to share apps, games, music, books, movies, TV shows with up to six family members. The best thing is that no sign-up fee will be required for availing this feature. This feature is very interesting and special security and flexibility features have been adopted for Family Library so that the main account can flawlessly serve the other six members without hampering the integrity of the main account. For example, which content will be shared with family members depend on the choice of the main account.
The six family members with whom the main account is sharing can have their individual accounts and they can maintain their own paid accounts individually. they can also share their own content with the main account. However, children accounts will be required to be approved by the main account.
The Family Library feature will also roll out for iOS and web besides Android. As Google says, “When you sign up, you’ll select a credit card to share as your family payment method, but your family members will always have the option of buying stuff with their personal credit cards or gift cards. And for your younger family members, you’ll have the option to approve each of their purchases.” Users can also share music subscription with family members.
Finally, if your family loves music, you can also subscribe to the Google Play Music family plan. On this plan, up to six family members can stream millions of songs on demand for $14.99 a month. We launched the family plan late last year, and today we’re expanding it to Ireland, Italy, Mexico, and New Zealand. And you can now sign up on the web, in addition to your Android device.
The feature has rolled out in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.
