MSI becomes the first to introduce a mechanical keyboard on a gaming laptop. The laptop GT80 Titan comes with a mechanical keyboard in it. Mechanical keyboard are highly popular with gamers because of their tactile response and it being relatively quieter. MSI’s GT80 Titan comes with Cherry MX Brown key switches which are known to be light, tactile and less noisy.
The laptop comes with an 18.4 inch display and is bundled with a quad core Intel Core i7 “Haswell” microprocessor for laptops and two GeForce GTX 980 M graphics adapters in SLI configuration. The system is alleged to feature up to 32 GB of DDR3L memory, M.2 solid state drives in RAID 0 mode for maximum performance and if this is not enough, it will have a 1 TB hard disk drive with 7200 rpm spindle speed for maximum amount of storage.
The laptop also comes with a unique touchpad that can act like a keypad as well. Since a mechanical keyboard needs a considerable amount of space for its switches, the Titan GT80 is 49.1 mm thick and weighs about 4.7 kgs. The other unique feature of the Titan GT80 is that all its hardware can be easily accessed by only removing the front panel of the laptop.
The laptop will feature a full HD display having a resolution of 1920 X 1080 but the company may offer its consumers a screen with up to 4K resolution, i.e., 3840 X 2160. The company is yet to confirm on the other integrations such as Dynaudio and Creative Sound Blaster Cinema audio system, 1080 p webcam and many others.
This device is expected to be available later this year or early next year and with such configuration it is expected to come at a hefty price. However this laptop is clearly a big step to the future of gaming.
